Standards and levels¶
AcceGuru lets you choose which rule sets the scanner runs, so results reflect the automated checks associated with your selected standards.
These settings live under AcceGuru -> Settings -> Scanner.
WCAG level¶
The WCAG level to check dropdown selects the target WCAG level for automated checks. Default: AA.
- A - foundational WCAG success criteria.
- AA - includes Level A and additional success criteria; a common accessibility target, not a legal guarantee.
- AAA - the highest WCAG level; it is not generally expected for every page of an entire site.
Standard toggles¶
Each toggle adds the rule set tagged for that standard in axe-core, so turning one on shows the matching issues.
| Toggle | What it adds | Default |
|---|---|---|
| Include Section 508 rules | Includes axe-core rules tagged for Section 508. | Off |
| Include EN 301 549 rules | Includes axe-core rules tagged for EN 301 549, the European accessibility standard. | Off |
| Include recommended checks | Includes additional axe-core and AcceGuru recommendations that are not treated as confirmed WCAG violations. | On (recommended) |
What AcceGuru does not claim¶
Automated checks catch a large share of issues but not all of them. Some WCAG criteria need human judgement. The dashboard reports what was tested; it does not certify legal compliance.
